Can You Help Us Find Bridget & Roxy Their Furever Home?
We are delighted to announce our partnership with All Dogs Matter. Every month we'll be featuring some of their dogs waiting patiently for their furever home. Here, Rowena Kenward tells us about the charity, its work and introduces Bridget & Roxy.
All Dogs Matter is a registered dog rescue and rehoming charity, based in Highgate North London, established in 2009. We rescue abandoned/unwanted dogs from all areas in and around Greater London and work to provide them with the best forever homes. The majority of our dogs are in foster homes, to avoid the stress of kennels. We work with a great team of volunteers too, both locally in North London and across the city.
We hold several key events throughout the year to raise funds for our charity and our dogs. These range from Dog Shows and Fairs to exhibitions and Adoption Drives! Our next event is An Evening with All Dogs Matter on 27th November, followed by our Santa Paws Fair in December. The funds we raise are so valuable in helping us continue with the work we do and helping us rehome even more dogs in need. With such a demand for our services, we require even more funding to cover veterinary and kennelling costs so that we can save as many dogs as possible.
We are still seeing huge numbers of unwanted dogs coming through our doors, Staffies being the majority. It’s so wonderful to see people’s perception of this breed changing though as more and more find the loving , forever homes that they deserve. We are always looking for Staffie foster-carers so please get in touch with us if you would be interested in offering one of our sweet Staffies a temporary foster home.
Please meet some of our dogs looking for homes....
Bridget is our star dog of the month! She is a petite Staffie (she’s a really small girl!) who has come to us after she was abandoned.
She had to stay in the pound for seven days but sadly no one came to take her home.
She is now at our kennels, waiting for a foster home! We think that she’s approximately 7 years old. Bridget is a sweet dog, who loves a tummy rub! You would never believe her age if you met her, as she is an active girl who just loves to play. Bridget loves her toys, but will also try and get a person involved in her play if she can! She enjoys being out and about at kennels, going on walks and getting extra cuddles from the staff!
She can live with children of 10 and above in her new home but no cats please. Bridget has been ok with dogs when out but we think she would prefer to be the only dog in her new home.
Roxy is a 6 month old Boxer Cross who has come to us after her owner had a change of circumstances.
Roxy is a sweet dog who is waiting patiently for her forever home! She is currently out on foster and has been loving life outside of kennels! Her foster-brother is a big German Shepherd and they love playing together. She has been friendly with everyone she meets and has been impressing us all with her ‘sit’ and ‘lie down’… we are currently working on ‘paw’!
As Roxy is a young dog, she will benefit from a new owner who has the time to work on furthering her training and socialisation but she has been responding very well to everything so far!
She loves having a fuss made of her and is always ready for a cuddle! She’s clearly clever and soppy too, so would make a lovely companion! She is nearly house-trained, just the occasional accident but she is clean through the night.
Roxy has been good with dogs when out, so could possibly live with a calm male. She will ideally find a new home with direct access to a garden and no cats please! She could also share her new home with children aged over 12.
Bridget and Sophie are just two of the 40 dogs we have looking for homes at the moment. If you would like any further information about any of our dogs or would like to know how you can get involved, please just get in touch via our website www.alldogsmatter.co.uk or email info@alldogsmatter.co.uk
