K9 Carers say:

We have more than 40 carers across Sussex who look after dogs (max 2) in their home as an alternative to kennels when you go away - and you get to meet them! None of our carers have dogs of their own but all have owned dogs before - and there's always somebody at home!

“Our dog nearly died. ”
Reviewed 11th August 2017
carer left garden gate open allowing our dog to run out onto busy main rd dodging around moving traffic. he was saved by kind people after some time in a distressed state with bloodied paws. They thought he would die from heart attack. Dog was not taken to vet and emergency contact was not called. On our return carer lied about incident (gave diff circs and timescale-missing from her at least 1.5 hrs) and didnt advise of paw damage. Discovered paws still bleeding later on day of pick up. K9 were aware but left it to carer to advise us (and lie). Only discovered truth when person who saved dog knocked on our door to ask if ok. We gave K9 this persons details and requested they investigate. Compensation requested. They didnt initially bother to speak to this person (insisting carer correct) and offered a measly £50 + vet fee (we took dog to vet ourselves as should have been done earlier). We insisted it was investigated properly and requested 50% reimbursement of fee (a further £49). On learning truth K9 offered £40 more, quibbling over extra £9. Poor attitude all through from K9 who implied we were exaggerating circumstances before they even spoke to person who saved our dog.
