“Only attended two classes at Lichfield......”
Reviewed 14th September 2016
I don't normally write reviews..........but feel quite strongly about this company, and I have spoken at length to the trainer the day after my pup was very ill.
We only attended two classes at Lichfield (inside the Kennelgate store after they had closed to the public) with our golden retriever puppy, but the instructors throw food on the food to try and teach recall to the dog . My pup's recall was far better before the first class, in fact before her second vaccinations.
When the instructor started using cut up pieces of Aldi's frankfurter sausages... that was it, we had had enough.....my pup had sickness and diarrhoea all through the night. Throwing food on the floor is not a good idea, especially with Retrievers or Labradors, after this second class my pup's head was permanently down searching on the floor and pavement all the time picking up bits of stone or bunny poo . If a child had dropped a packet of sweets/chocolate buttons for example my pup would have not only eaten them but would then have been at the vets with a potential serious health risk. We had watched the Cadelac video prior to going to the first class and we were appalled that the owner of this company kept stating that if you give your dog something (e.g., a bone or food) never take it away, oh really, so if the dog is in trouble and has something stuck in it's mouth !!!!! Having owned dogs since I was a child over 50 years ago you need to be calm but firm and to be able to take things away and more importantly give them back to the dog, (the owner of Cadelac screeches dramatically into her microphone as if to reinforce her words of wisdom) We thought that as we had a pup we would be socialising her with other dogs, obviously whilst on the lead. My last two retrievers were from rescue and they had some difficult problems which we overcame with love, understanding and a lot of patience. Not impressed at all with this Cadelac company. This pup is our 8th retriever that we have owned, I have also looked after friends retriever's when they went aboard and had five dogs of varying ages and fitness, so I do know what I am talking about. It would appear that for just over £100 pays anyone can attend a short course and set themselves up with this Cadelac company. Not allowed to give no stars for training or value for money, a 6 week one hour course is not going to train your dog........ only common sense, patience and understanding will.

“Brilliant experience”
Reviewed 11th March 2015
Blu and I attended the puppy class held in Derby and the level of attention, concern, knowledge and sheer experience were very evident.

We enjoyed it so much that we intend going to the next level of classes. For us the acid test is Would we buy it again" and the answer here is a resounding yes.

Nothing was too much trouble, Explanations were clear, The classes were great fun and it was very interesting to see how the dogs progressed over the weeks. Blu just loved his time at the class and is still enjoying the training we are continuing with.

All we can say is find out for yourself and enjoy!

Blu and Pete
