Lovely country pub
The pub is about ten minutes drive from Beaminster and we phoned in advance to check we could take our dog inside. We were told we could but, as it turned out, the evening was pleasant enough for us to sit outside with fellow dog owners. The lady serving was very friendly to us and the dogs and happily brought us a water bowl. The menu was small which probably reflected its freshness and there was enough choice. Both the steak and the mussels were good, but we did have to wait a bit. The pub's not open on Mondays so best check if you're planning a visit.

Great food and dogs welcome!
It's rare that you find a restaurant that actively welcomes dogs and we found this place on the seafront which was great as the weather was looking a bit threatening. We had the seafood platter which was amazing - lots of fish and only £13. The side order of chunky chips were perfect and a great accompaniment. We had a couple of drinks and the whole lot was very reasonable. Dog got a bowl of water and plenty of room to sit. Would really recommend this place. Only downside was you had to order food at the counter.

Lovely summer's evening
A lovely place for a summer's meal . Dogs are allowed outside in the covered area which is very sheltered as it's between two conservatories and has heaters. Not sure whether it's an all year round facility but it was nice to sit overlooking the garden and enjoy a nice meal and was a refreshing change from the pubs which are usually the only option for hungry dog owners. The blankets were a nice touch in case it got chilly.
But on to the food. We had a choice of two menus - the brasserie one (slightly cheaper) and the restaurant one. Both had lots of choice and had some interesting dishes. I had the snails and the chickpea Lahori while my husband had the lamb marsala. Both were delicious and the service was friendly and professional. Our dog was offered a bowl of water unasked and there was space for him to sit down without getting in the way. Wished we lived nearer so we could go more often!
