Good place to eat with your dog
This pub is situated in Dawlish Warren up the hill from the beach. It welcomes dogs (children less so which is not always a bad thing...) in the main eating area and the views across the bay are lovely even on a damp May day. There is a large menu and the food was good (probably one of the best places to eat in the area).

Have they changed the recipe?
We used to use Arden Grange as a topping for our dog's kibble but the last batch of tins we bought seemed different. The food was darker and had a lot more rice in it. Not sure if it's a change in the recipe or the manufacturing process? And it didn't agree with our dog either.

Beautiful gardens
These gardens are delightful! Lovely beds full of wonderful planting set round lawned areas and each with a different theme. And made even better by the fact that dogs on leads are allowed. Our dog was made to feel very welcome by the head gardener who found a couple of treats for him in her apron. There's also a nursey and a cafe with a large terrace area where we all enjoyed a delicious lunch . Highly recommended.

Lovely place - great fish and chips
We found this cafe by chance when hunting for somewhere which combined being dog friendly with having good food on a chilly August day. The owner was happy for us to sit inside and there was plenty of fresh water for the dog just outside. We had the fish and chips which were great and the rest of the specials board looked very appetising too. This is a quaint little cafe done out in a coastal style just off from the beach and was a lovely stop for lunch.

The best doggie beach ever!
This is a fantastic beach for dogs. Half the beach has dog restrictions but this isn't a problem as the dog bit is massive and there's more than enough space for everyone. It's a lovely sandy beach and is quite shallow both at low and high tide so lots of doggie splashing and fun to be had. The car park is the first one you come to on entering Camber - there's lots of space, but it's also quite expensive at £5 for three hours. We went every day though - it was worth it just to see the dog enjoying himself so much.

Fab pizzas!
We started outside in the nice little courtyard but as it was windy and a bit chilly we asked if we could sit inside with our dog which the staff said wasn't a problem. It's quite large inside with two floors and we sat upstairs at a corner table to keep the dog out of the way of the other dinners and small children. The food was good - particularly the pizza. The special pizza was a hot meat one which was lovely and spicy with a great base. The dog's water bowl was provided on request. Being able to go here with the dog was a nice change from pubs which are usually the dog friendly option and I'd certainly recommend it.

Lovely pub
Situated just outside Rye this is a great dog friendly pub. It has a lovely terrace with great views but as it was a bit chilly in the early (August!) evening, we opted to sit inside. We got a very warm welcome - dog biscuits on arrival - and it was clear that the staff really loved dogs. We got a warm welcome too. The service was very helpful and friendly and, although the menu is fairly limited, the food was really good. The fish was fresh and the lamb ribs very were tasty. The sticky toffe pudding was highly recommended too. Special thanks to the lady who loved retrievers!

Dog friendly in the heart of Rye
We were struggling a bit to find anywhere for lunch in the centre of Rye and went in on the off chance to ask if we could take our dog inside. The helpful girl behind the bar said they were dog friendly and there was another dog already happily ensconced in the bar. In the end we sat outside in the small, but pretty courtyard which was nice. We ordered the burger and the catch of the day both of which we enjoyed - as did the dog. A water bowl was supplied on request. A good find.
