Brian's Cottage 31st July to 7th August
We have thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Brian's Cottage. The welcome from Liz and Tim is exceptional - they are the perfect hosts. We were lucky enough to be there when they hosted a owner's get together and were invited to join them. It was a lovely evening with very tasty food - we can recommend booking a meal prepared by Liz whilst on holiday!! Also the extensive welcome pack again has gems made by Liz including cake, brownies, ciabatta, jam and marmalade, all of which are delicious. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, both for in the cottage and days out if you've forgotten anything eg leads, cooler bag, ice blocks etc etc. There is a very comfortable king-size bed - perfect for a good night's sleep. It's also in a great location - walks from the door and a short drive to the beach and many other attractions. We again enjoyed the sunsets from the garden and watching the birds in the front garden in the mornings. All in all a perfect week.

Brian's Cottage - August 2020
We were lucky enough to stay at Brian's Cottage in August and can thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage. We were greeted on arrival by Liz and Tim who are perfect hosts, helpful and friendly but not intrusive. As well as the yummy welcome pack (including homemade ciabatta and cake!), Tim gave us some fresh produce from their garden too. A card and some fizz for a special birthday was also a lovely touch. The cottage is set in an extremely quiet area which made sitting in the garden whilst listening and watching the wildlife, and the ever changing skies, absolute bliss. Being able to watch the birds in the front garden whilst enjoying our morning cuppa was also a highlight - the robins and a woodpecker were our favourites. The cottage itself is perfect with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Our elderly Bichon loved the outdoor K9 bed too and was happy to snooze away on it.  Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, we had to leave early, and extremely swiftly - I cannot stress enough what a difference Liz's calm, helpful and caring manner made in a very hectic 40 minutes of throwing everything in the car, and afterwards as well. This really showed the dedication to looking after their guests in every way. We would return in a heartbeat.

Holmes House July 2019
Another excellent East Ruston Cottages stay from 27th July to 3rd August - our second visit to Holmes House. We thoroughly enjoyed our week with plenty of countryside walks direct from cottage and beach walks within a few minutes drive. Holmes House has everything you need for a great week away and in a fabulously quiet setting.
We've been visiting beautiful Norfolk with our dogs since 2014 and have stayed with varying family members, or just the two of us, at I think 8 East Ruston Cottages on all 12 occasions - and have a further two visits booked for this year. I think this says it all for the quality and diversity of the cottages Sue manages, her enthusiasm and hard work, and of course that of all the owners. We can't wait for our next stay!

Orchard Cottage Happisburgh
Our third stay at this perfect Cottage which at's it all really. We love it's homely and welcoming atmosphere and appreciate the owners' attention to detail and high standard of cleanliness. Fabulous welcome treats are always much appreciated too! Everything that you or your dogs could possibly need is provided. We and our dogs love spending time in the gorgeous garden and the dogs also love the cool tiled floor to sleep on in the heat. Happisburgh is a lovely village with lots going on. Having now stayed at 8 East Ruston Cottages, we can thoroughly recommend Sue and ERC.

Rooster Barn
Another wonderful ERC stay - this time at Rooster Barn in Trunch. The owners have created a lovely home from home with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Very clean and well looked after. Our older Jack/Westie cross and Bichon Frise thoroughly enjoyed exploring the sniffs in the large grassed garden and the patio area; both fenced and safe. The welcome pack for both dogs and humans was huge and much appreciated by all. This is a good location with lots of lovely beaches and walks, all within a short drive. Another property we would love to come back to in the future.

Fantastic holiday - highly recommend!
We have returned today from a lovely week's break at Church View Cottage. The cottage is of a very high standard with everything that we needed for a relaxing week away and extremely dog friendly with enclosed garden, dog beds, throws, bowls etc if needed. Both dogs and humans enjoyed the welcome goodies - not one but two homemade cakes, jam, bread, eggs, milk, fresh flowers etc and various dog treats including homemade biscuits. It is situated on a quiet lane but with easy access to explore the surrounding area and only a few minutes' drive from the lovely, almost deserted beaches. The owners, Paula and Peter (not forgetting Weasel!) were very friendly but not obtrusive and although the cottage is attached to their home, you do not feel overlooked at all. Also must mention the bed - sooooo comfortable! Looking forward to returning in the future.

Orchard Cottage, Happisburgh, Norfolk
We had a brilliant holiday at the totally dog friendly Orchard Cottage. On arrival at the spotless cottage we were greeted with flowers, cakes and strawberries. There was also milk in the fridge, tea coffee and sugar and of course treats for the dogs - all of which was a lovely touch and much appreciated after our journey.

The cottage itself is lovely (we all agreed we could quite happily stay forever!) and very well equipped - it had everything we needed for a relaxing family break. The garden was great for the dogs and for us - having the sun loungers in the shed as well as the table and chairs was really good as it meant after a day out we could really relax in the garden especially as it got the sun all day. Also the chimnea is good - we spent most evenings in the garden and were lucky enough to see the meteor shower whilst there too.

The cottage is in a great position in the village with the beach, small shop and pub both only five minute' walk away. We found the food, drink and welcome at the Hill House Inn to be excellent. We also enjoyed a stroll along the cliff path to Smallsticks cafe for breakfast and then walked it off back along the beach - the dogs loved it too. Would also recommend Nelson's Head at Horsey for food and drink after a walk to see the seals - husband and eldest daughter's boyfriend recommend several of the beers!

All in all we had a brilliant week and have no hesitation in recommending Orchard Cottage as a fantastic place to stay whether you have dogs or not. Hopefully we will be visiting again.
