Furry face

These ten acre gardens are just outside Sheringham. They are not very large but they are pretty with a maze to explore which frustrated our dog! Entry is £6.50 but you can get 2 for 1 with the Gardeners' World card. Amazing echiums.

A bonus is the lovely cafe which is situated in the gardens (although you don't have to pay if you just want to visit the cafe). The outside area is very well done with comfy rattan seating and there's a covered terrace too in case of rain. Food was excellent and good value and well worth the short trip from Sheringham town centre.

We sat outside with our dog as it was a nice day but dogs are also welcome inside. There were lots of dogs outside and although our dog didn't get any particular star treatment, the food was good and it's a nice place to go for lunch - or dinner - with your four legged friend.

We were staying locally and went early on Friday evening for dinner. Dogs are allowed in the bar area which is a good size. This is fortunate as there were a lot of dogs! and it's clearly a very popular place. There was a jar of beef bones for dogs which went down well. For us the food was excellent. Service was a bit on the slow side but the restaurant was busy and the food more that made up for it. There's also a garden at the back should you wish to sit outside.
