More than a cafe…
It says on the board outside that the cafe is dog friendly, child friendly and just very friendly and that is very true. It’s much bigger than it looks from the outside and has a big room at the back. The menu is more than just a cafe menu with pizzas, burgers and wraps. I’ve been a few times and had the wraps which are large and good value. The service is really friendly and they love the dogs. As it’s in the middle of Broadway on the High Street it gets very busy. You can’t book unfortunately but there are lots of tables inside and a few outside to watch the world go by. And lots of dogs!

Wonderful Cotswold Village Pub!
In Bledington which is four miles from Stow on the Wold and an unspoilt, pretty Cotswold village, great for a pre or post lunch dog walk. This is a lovely pub, very traditional inside but with lots of space so our dog, a Golden Retriever, could lay down in comfort and not get in anyone’s way. Excellent food and a nice, unhurried atmosphere. Busy even in January so probably best to book.

Lovely dog friendly country pub
Arrived without a booking but with the dog and were immediately made welcome. Found us a table with plenty of space for the dog and offered to fill up his water bowl and gave him a very large biscuit!

A lovely cosy pub which is bright and airy with lots of beams. Service very good and friendly and our food - Winter Fish Pot and oven baked plaice - were excellent. Not to mention the Baileys cheesecake.

Great dog friendly cafe in Windsor
On a freezing cold January day, we were really pleased to find this dog friendly cafe on the Windsor Main street. The staff made a very big fuss of our dog which he loved and we had some excellent wraps for our lunch. We would certainly come back here.

Quaint pub in the New Forest
Lovely traditional pub complete with a thatched roof and terrace with views over the countryside. Dogs allowed in the bar and snug. Extensive menu with a large list of specials, although not particularly cheap. Seems popular with the locals as it was fairly busy on a Thursday lunchtime. Friendly staff and the dog enjoyed his treats.

Nice day out but...
There are very few sandy, dog friendly beaches in this part of the world. Mudeford Spit is one of the few. It's not easy to get there. We parked at Mudeford Quay and then took the ferry over to the Spit. The car park wasn't cheap - £4.30 for 3 hours - and the ferry was £1.50 each way per person for a 5 min hop. Dogs go free. You can also take a tourist train I think from Hengistbury Head - or walk if you're feeling energetic.

The Spit itself is famous for its expensive beach huts and was very busy when we went at the end of July. The beach itself was ok, it is sandy but with a lot of rocks and very busy. Our dog enjoyed swimming although we didn't let him get too far out as it got deep very quickly and there seemed to be a bit of a current.

There's a restaurant there which looked nice (but again expensive and not sure if it's dog friendly) and a small take away place and shop. We had to wait about twenty minutes for the return ferry. I think it's normally shorter than that but one ferry wasn't running. We did have a nice day out, but it was a bit of an effort and rather expensive and there are much better dog friendly beaches elsewhere in the country.

Wonderful pub!
A very dog friendly pub - our dog got three (!) biscuits and a water bowl - just a short distance from the centre of Lymington. The inside is really well done with a great feel and wooden floors. The staff are very friendly, the food was fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. Certainly one to visit if you're in the area. I imagine it gets very busy at peak times so may be best to book ahead to avoid disappointment!
