Great customer service
This pub is very dog friendly and they are allowed inside where there are dog bowls and biscuits for them. Trouble was we decided to take our dog for a walk along the canal towpath beforehand and he got sooooo muddy we didn’t want to take him in. We asked the lady behind the bar if she would mind serving us outside - it was raining and damp - and she was more than happy to do so although I felt sorry for the poor waitress who had to bring our food. We had a great meal sat on our own in the covered area outside with a fabulous view over the lake, but maybe next time we’ll swerve the walk and eat inside!

Lovely traditional pub
Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. This is a lovely, cosy, welcoming, traditional pubs where dogs are very welcome and given treats too! The food is excellent, portions are large and always of a consistent quality, as there is only one chef, and prices very reasonable. The owner and the staff were very friendly too.

An added bonus is that the pub is only a short drive away from the beach at Happisburgh which is fantastic for dogs.

Lovely views but not too dog friendly
There are only a couple of tables in the bar where dogs are allowed but on a nice day - which this wasn’t - you can sit outside and enjoy the fabulous views of Chesil Beach. Our reception with the dog was luke warm initially - the only dog bowl was a old one outside and they didn’t want to find another one - but improved when a different member of staff arrived who found him a bowl and gave him a treat. Food was fine and reasonable but not the best dog friendly experience we’ve had.

Good spot for lunch
In a little village a couple of miles out of Burford, this pub allows dogs in the bar area where the locals made a fuss of him. The fish we had was good and the service was cheery and friendly.

Excellent lunch
This pub is just off the Main Street in Burford but still very central. We booked ahead for Sunday lunchtime which is advisable as it was very busy. We were given a table with space for the dog and our server made a fuss of him. The food was excellent - particularly recommend the steak and ale pie - although the service could have been a bit quicker.

Bad timing
We didn’t pick a great time to visit the Lamb as there was a wedding party there that day and the only item on the food menu they were serving was pizza. The rest of the menu looked really good! Having said that the staff were very friendly and there was lots of space for the dog in the bar and they happily filled up his water bowl even though there were already lots of bowls around - he’s very fussy. Lots of nice outdoor space too.

Great place to visit
This garden is a delight! And it’s very dog friendly too. I’d never been to a Rococo garden before and it was very different to any style I’ve seen with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. There are lots of hidden nooks and crannies and a maze, which our dog found a bit frustrating as he kept having to turn round! There is a cafe and shop as well which both allow dogs and we spent a very enjoyable morning here.

They are also just about to move to their weekend winter opening hours and if you take your dog you will get a free entry so great for an autumn walk.

Lovely place for lunch
I gave this five paws as, although our dog didn’t get any preferential treatment, we had a lovely lunch. It’s best to book if you have a dog as there are only a few tables where dogs are allowed, (there’s also a garden outside if the weather is fine). Our food was excellent and very reasonable. Well worth a visit.
