Fabulous - booked our next stay already!
A lovely welcoming cottage with everything we could have wished for. a warm welcome from Paula on arrival set the tone for our stay. Easy off street parking, a secure garden, comfortable bedrooms and living room, with a wonderful log burner made for a cosy winter stay. Easy drive to nearby dog friendly beaches and lots of attractions. Take the chance to look around the wonderful barn full of antiques and curiosities. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked again for next year. Although Paula & Peter live right next door we were not, in the nicest way, aware of them being around, but helpful to have them on hand if anything did arise.

Orchard Cottage, We Didn't Want to Leave.
A beautiful 3 bedroom cottage which makes a perfect base for a group of adults and dogs to explore this wonderful part of the country. Truly dog friendly - dog treats left for enjoying on arrival (along with cakes, milk, tea, coffee & sugar for the humans, very welcome after the drive), and a store of items such as dog bowls, bed, holiday collars, poo bags and even ball chuckers. Also supplied were throws for the sofas and towels - a place that acknowledges that a lot of dogs like to sit on the sofas with their owners in front of the wood burning stove. Hard flooring makes keeping on top of paw prints easy - don't worry there is a rug in front of the fire for relaxing on. The garden is a beautiful, sunny, safe place - securely fenced and the gates even have warning signs about dogs running free inside - and door bell to ring to get the attention of those staying - minimising the risk of dogs slipping out past callers. The great thing is that the house is as comfortable for humans as it is for dogs. 3 good sized bedrooms - no dreaded bunk beds, so a group of adult friends were all happily accommodated. Two bathrooms so no queue for the loo. Free wifi an added bonus. Beware that mobile phone signals in the area aren't great - but it was quite nice to be slightly out of touch. So many places to visit that are dog friendly - we even took the dogs on a seal watching boat trip from Blakeney. Bure Valley Railway was another great trip with the dogs, followed by a boat trip around the Broads. The Hill House Inn a few minutes walk away is a great place - good food and friendly people. Beaches are all stunning. Every place we visited seemed to be dog friendly - so good not to be forced to sit outside to eat, especially in October. The only place that had a no dogs inside rule was the restaurant on Cromer Pier, but as it was a nice day we were happy to sit outside, but several places we passed had dogs inside so we had options. All the cottages seem to get booked up quickly, so if you want to visit pkan ahead, or join the mailing list to receive news of cancellations etc. We have already booked for next year.

Great Service, My Dog Loved It
Superb grooming parlour. Conveniently located with a public car park nearby. My dog obviously adored his visit, wanting to stay and play. His first time being professionally groomed while I have owned him (he is a rescue). He went in looking rather scruffy, and came out looking sleek and polished. Beautifully bathed, trimmed and with nails cut too. The groomer took the time to ask what end result I would like as regards length etc. She took time to get to know my boy, petting him and making friends with him so he was quite relaxed with her. They helpfully called when he was ready to be collected as I didn't want to leave him for too long once he had been groomed. The shop also sells a good range of pet foods, treats, toys, leads and beds. Prices compared very well with other services in the area. We will be regulars from now on.

Excellent Veterinary Practice
I have had my dogs with Arden House for the last 15 years. I have never been less than 100% satisfied with the way my dogs have been treated. The dogs are always treated gently, their condition discussed and treatment options explained. There is never any sense of being rushed through. My old boy had serious health issues, and thankfully the team at Arden House referred him to the specialists at the Animal Health Trust at Newmarket, which gave him the chance of a longer healthier life. From the lovely Amanda in reception, through the nurses and vets, each member of the team are outstanding. I have always been able to contact the surgery easily, including being able to make contact out of hours in an emergency, which is reassuring when you have a sick animal. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
