“Dogs not welcome”
Reviewed 19th August 2018
We arrived looking forward to a large family holiday we had booked a year in advance. We had fifteen family members and three small dogs. We were charged £90 (£30 each dog) which wasn’t a problem until we were given a list of what the dogs couldn’t do. No going on any furniture, not allowed upstairs, on lead anywhere on site, dogs not to be left at cottage even if going to pool or fishing - however dogs not allowed around pool area or park.
On one morning the manager came to check the hot tub and was found looking through the windows of the conservatory. He later stopped my husband and told him to keep dogs of furniture. They had apparently been on the conservatory chair. When my husband questioned why they allow dogs when it is clearly such a problem he advised they were considering not. We basically spent the week trying to contain the dogs in the kitchen conservatory area and on watch to ensure they didn’t sit on anything. We were told that if even one paw Print or hair was found then the £200 deposit taken in cash on arrival would be kept! We have been to plenty of dog friendly places and never had so many restrictions and in a place where dogs clearly were not welcome. We are yet to understand why the extra cost of not for the additional cleaning for having dogs there. We felt unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The attitude of the manager Gary was poor and he had no interpersonal Skills. Moaning about wanting to hurry and do our tour so he could get his tea. |

“DOG FRIENDLY AND FABULOUS COTTAGES”
Reviewed 11th May 2016
Friendly, welcoming, spotlessly clean and beautifully presented cottages, with outstanding views. We felt very welcome and so did our two cavaliers Oscar & Woody. Debbie & Gary were very helpful and ensured we got the most out of our stay, with all their knowledge of this lovely area. The cottages all have enclosed gardens, which meant we need not worry and could totally relax. The cottages are positioned next to fields, which were ideal for there walks. Dog friendly beach just a short drive away. Lots to do on the farm , fishing, tennis court, swimming pool, or just relax in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly, the choose is yours. The cottage we stayed in is on one level so no stairs, wonderful! for Oscar and Woody after a hard day at the beach. Would highly recommend a stay at South Farm, and we look forward to returning soon.
