Lovely views from the garden
We stopped here for lunch as it was dog friendly and were surprised to find that there is a lovely garden area out through the cafe with great views. Dogs are also allowed inside and ours was made a fuss of and he enjoyed the dog biscuits on offer. We had fantastic scrambled egg (strictly speaking on the breakfast menu), fluffy and hot and lots of them. The cakes and the platters on offer looked good too.

Well worth seeking out
What a lovely place! This restaurant is a bit off the beaten track in the new town but is a fantastic place. They have their own dog and also welcomed ours with water and treats. And they have a fantastic fish menu for the humans with some different dishes which were all delicious. The dog was just a bit upset he didn't get any as the ones we chose were cooked with spices...
Great service and reasonable prices too. Was quiet when we went at lunchtime but probably best to book at busy times and a refreshing alternative to the pubs we usually have to eat in!

A dog cone with a difference!
Our dog hates wearing the cone of shame. Once we've - struggled - to get it on him he then tries his best to get it off and destroy it and he always looks really unhappy. The cone we got from Nikkis Nesties was very different - it's soft for a start so much more comfortable for the dog and it looked great! Ours was a leopard skin look but I think you can get get other colours and designs. It was much easier to get on him and he didn't mind wearing it for a change.

Lots of dog walking!
This park is 158 acres so there's lots of space to walk including around the lake and dogs on short leads are welcomed. The estate has some stunning views and is very well kept with many places to stop for a rest on a hot day and just watch the world go by. You can take a picnic but there's also a good cafe which serves local produce and has water bowls. Parking is free and the entrance charge at £8 (you can also get 2 for 1 offers) is reasonable. A great place to spend an afternoon - or longer!

Great for hot days
We take this bottle out on walks with our dog on hot days. He likes to stop every now and then and take a quick swig to wet his whistle. It's convinient to carry and keeps the water fresh. We did have to show him how to use it to start with but he soon got the hang of it. Having the bottle full of water also means that you have a supply to fill up a bowl for a proper drink should you need it. The only downside is that you need to be careful using it indoors as quite a bit seems to end up on the floor!

Love this pub!
This pub is very old and very small, but it's dog friendly (although children aren't allowed). You need to book as it gets very busy and to make sure that you get a table with space for your dog if it's on the large side as ours is. The menu is small but the food is great and the portions are on the large size. Very friendly table service too. A bit of a gem.

Good food but long wait
As it was a nice day we sat outside at the front of the pub, but dogs are allowed inside in the bar area, which is quite large. There was only one dog water bowl though so the many dogs there had to share! It was Sunday lunchtime and it was busy and we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food. It was nice when it came though.
